Look like GN to Rime are getting the love from the mountain view, which is looking directly in to the Canyon area.

Something is wrong. It has been 45 minutes and there is no huge press release or anything.

With that said, snow is in the forecast for Thursday night and Friday. Could it be that the season is set to start?

Gotta like this aggressive stance by Kton. While I think Boyne would be doing just as much, the cards don't seem to be falling into place in Newry.

This is nothing new. Killington, including the POWDR version, has always made snow at this time of year. The difference is that POWDR wouldn't try to get open. With the wood walkway up Heavenly Traverse, POWDR now has the ability to open without the pickup truck/Canyon Quad mess.

looks like they are off now... I would've liked to have seen that on a Monday!

If they truely got 14 inches up top, they have a nice base to work with.

It will be interesting to see who will win the race!

Seems to be a pretty aggressive stance from Killington. Not ideal temps, especially with the daytime temps, and the chance of rain on Thursday. How much is the Beast willing to lose of this snow it's making?

Except that what they make, even if it's for a few hours will be more likely to stay around in a greater quantity ontop of the natural that fell last week, than it would on bare ground

It's not getting all that warm, and cold rain doesn't melt snow. Looks like they have a few days off, but what they made last night on top of the natural should stick around well enough that round the clock snowmaking starting Thursday should get them open on Saturday.

We all know where this goes. No plans, no plans, no plans, announce on Friday that they open Saturday at 10. That's been their M.O. the last few years.

If they learned anything the last year or two about opening day rumors, Tom won't even think about posting something up until they are 110% sure it will happen! Even 99.9% sure they could open just leaves too much of a window to disapoint a ravenous bunch of folks looking for early lift served turns!

Pretty dumb to not tip your cards, IMO. If I got some advanced warning that there was even a chance, I could request Friday off for vacation. If I learn about a Friday opening when I get home Thursday night, its too late.

Can any one confirm that the guns went on for base building or was this just a "show and blow" test of the system? When I was up on North Ridge on Saturday, a lot of guns were not hooked up and ready. I saw about a dozen or so that were ready to go but I was not impressed with preparations... though they had a lot of activity up there so they could have gotten it together by Sunday.

My question is whether they are taking advantage of the natural snow to make it look like they are blowing for real when they actually just turned the guns on for a photo op and test?
