Its about to get very estrogen-y in here! Moms and Dads too (albeit this applies more to Moms):

Have any breastfeeding Moms dealt with having to pump at a ski resort? How?

For those that may not know, mothers that are breastfeeding still have to pump even if the kiddo is with Dad at home or being babysat with a full supply of pumped milk. My wife is at odds in figuring out where, when, and how to pump while spending a day on the slopes. She is looking for suggestions from those that have encountered this issue and succeeded in getting a full day in skiing (as she's been denied it all last season while pregnant.) And I think the guy in the attached photo would like to know too for his mom's sake.

In general, I don't think resorts are setup for such a customer accommodation. If I was you, I'd just go to the resort office and simply ask them if they have a private space (conference room?) that could be used for a few mins.

Now brace yourself for those diversionary comments I sure are coming!

Just pump in a bathroom. My wife had to do this at a wedding we went to over the summer. Obviously it's not ideal, but sometimes you don't have a choice.

I'm sure if you ask most places will have a quiet place to do it. Are you taking him to the hill with you? Can she just spin by the nursery and feed/pump?

I'd suggest your wife join www.theskidiva.com and post this question there. She'll get a wealth of suggestions.
Excellent suggestion. There are very few women on this board but there are some Divas who are dealing with this question this very season (plus others with experience).

I would ask. Bathrooms will work but they're not that ideal (plus some women have a hard time with let down if they are nervous/tense about others around them--hard to relax like you need to do in order to get the milk flowing). Besides, do you want to get your food in the toilet? Me neither.

If there is a nursery/daycare, they may have accommodations even if the little one isn't with you. Around here, the hills do not have nurseries/daycare but I imagine they would be able to find a quiet nook to help out a skiing mom. Then make sure she brings an insulated cooler bag and ice packs for that liquid gold after she pumps.

Good luck!

My wife and I thank all for their great replies. I'm afraid I forgot about skidivas. I'm forcing her to enter the internet world of communal brain sharing and begin her first participation in a discussion forum on skidivas soon.

The situation that we are concerned about is when she skis and I stay home with spud boy. We're hoping to utilize Holiday Valley's daycare once he reaches the requisite 6 months old in March, and then Mom can run in every 3 hours to feed him. We're gonna call to ask the hill about a private room of some sort once the season gets underway. She's definitely against pumping in a bathroom, and very not keen on the idea of pumping in the back of the Honda. For know we're just making sure our general idea of what can be done is covered, hoping for others' input on creative solutions along the way.

Oh SNAP!!! The ski divas are gonna have their poly-pro panties in a wad about you callously dismissing the ritual's importance and your imaptience and lack of concern for the proper sanctuary necessary for a milking session.

You laugh but have you ever had to milk yourself in a bathroom stall? Not fun.

How long does it take the MRG single to get to the top? 12 minutes?
Would you like to bare yourself down to the skin for that?

I've pumped in the car before. Also less than ideal with concerns of people walking by and seeing, but again, you do what you have to do...

Maybe you can hook up the pumps to a hydration bladder. Just wear them around all day and turn it on when needed?
