Okay,

So as we sit here in the middle of July, I am thinking about my top 5 goals for next season! I think all of the ones I list are within reason. What are your goals?

1. Make 20+ visits this year Even with the new baby at home, this should be easy enough with WaWa in my back yard, making sunday night's into my night out at Wachusett!

2. Learn to ski the bumps! I would love to finally be able to hit the bumps, but I still suck! Maybe my skis are too long, maybe I am fail when it comes to it in general. I am game to learn! Any suggestions?

3. Ski Magic! I missed out last year, and I really loved reading the TR on Magic and the vibe in general.

4. Ski from October-May/June We all know Sunday River will be the first to open in October, we know Sugarloaf and Jay (at least this year), went into June... I want to ski every month at least twice! Well once in October and June if possible! More skiing = better skier!

5. Lose 15-20lbs So I can ski better and not be such a fat ass!

Okay so those are mine... what's your top 5?

#1 goal is to get my 3 year old daughter out more this year, for more mileage. Maybe even get my 18 month old started on the little play skis (worked well for my other kiddo!)

#2 is just plain get out there myself. Head injury last season shut most of the season down for me, and so far it's not healing that fast (which is the case for head injury's anyway)

Nice and simple.

Will #2 include racing at Pats Peak? Hope your head heals by then...

Goals are to improve and be able to ski more varied terrain, but to make sure that I am having fun along the way. Tend to get into too much self-analysis...

1. Get better at skiing Bumps

Im ok enough with moguls to be able to survive them, but on steeper trails I have some issues manuvering and keeping my speed down at the same time.

2.Visit more ski areas

I made to about 5 different Ski areas this year (Sunday river, Wachusett, Killington, Cannon, BEast) but would obviously like to visit some more, notably SugarLoaf and Loon because my SR pass covers those mountains as well.

3. Ski Watatic in the Winter
I have hiked probably 50 times in the summer but would love to Ski it in the winter. The issue of blocked trails and poor backcountry equipment (Surplus XC Rentals that actually came from the mountain and poorly fitting leather boots) has been the main deterent, but I think I may try this year if conditions are good.

1. Get 20+ days (missed it by 1 day this year)
2. Hit up Jay, Sugarloaf, Burke, Magic (and and other place that has powder in the trees that I haven't made it to yet)
3. Get in better shape
4. Visit out west somewhere again (hopefully MT)
5. Hit up tuckerman's (and hike up the whole way)

I've given up.

My 5-year old wants to learn to snowboard (he can rock the mountain on skis already). So we're gonna learn together this year. I'm sure I'll regret this. Being almost 50 and having a 5-year old doesn't align with falling on your butt all day. But we'll have fun.

I'll be happy to just get out there whenever I can.

I'd like to get better in the bumps, as I'm continually aspiring to do.

Catching at least one powder day would be nice, even if it's only a CT day (we had a pretty epic one this past season).

I'm pumped to get my kids out more too, they were both skiing from the top by the end of last season, and were even hitting some of Sundown's gnar black diamond terrain.

Primary Goals never change.

1. Ski more than I did the year prior

2. Be in good physical condition.

Other than that, I don't really have too many goals. My expectations are fairly low for the upcoming season as I'll be back in school, so time and finances will be tight.

As always, my first goal is to come back from every ski day in one piece. Then, here are the rest:

1. Vermont backcountry - Mansfield (Bruce, Teardrop, Steeple...), Big Jay, Camel's Hump
2. Utah -- Alta, Deer Valley, Brighton or Powder Mountain
3. Unfinished business around Mt. Washington and the Presidentials - Oakes Gulf, Ammonoosuc Ravine, Burt Ravine, King Ravine, Mt. Jefferson, Huntington Ravine, Hillman's Highway
4. Participate in the Thunderbolt ski race
5. Return to Stowe, MRG and/or Jay

Then, of course, more Loaf/River/Loon!

My usual goals:

1) Atleast 40 days

2) Ski on every day of the week (means I took a ski week vacation!)

3) No injuries

4) Still be able to out ski my kids by season end (could be getting real close with the oldest this season! :) )

and one new one too for this season

5) Be on the 1st chair of Mount Snow's new bubble six pack

Keep me posted. I haven't been on a board for years. I'll have to rent one after you guys have a few days on the hill. But if Jeff's son spots us...he's gonna want in...then Jeff is gonna pissedowitz at us.

Goal #1: Don't drive down to Manchester to catch a flight to Philly every week

Goal #2: Get all my conference calls scheduled for noon or later so I can morning ski

Goal #3: Lose the pounds I put on from weekly business trips to Philly for 8 months

Goal #4: Use up at least 3 weeks of my accrued vacation skiing

Goal #5: Crush your enemies -- See them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women

I'm totally jealous of #4.

I guess my only goal is "work less, ski more."
