That's why I pay an ISP to host my email. I don't want Google, Yahoo, or Microsoft to be able to create more of a database of me than they already have. It's one thing to log all my internet searches. It's unfortunately the price of admission to the Google search engine. It's another thing entirely to be scanning my personal email.

After I looked into it, I'm also concerned about Android. It appears that anything you do on the device ends up in a Google database. They control your web browser and your email. No thanks. Blackberry sucks but at least everything on it is private (unless you load the Facebook application).

Even free, I don't have any interest in Ski Magazine. I'm simply not their demographic. I've had it free before and it goes from mailbox to coffee table to trash without ever getting opened. When I was an enthusiastic pre-teen and teen many years ago, it was my bible.

Thanks for posting.

I have a hotmail adress I specifically use for free offers like this. I check it once every so often so I don't care what gets sent to it.

Agreed. I couldn't wait for my last subscription to end. IMO it has really morphed over the years and gotten away from skiing itself.

I own several Domain Names including www.SkiWithStache.com. I can have anything before the @ sign in the email address and it still comes into the main email box. So when I sign up for stuff like this I put the company name before the @ sign (IE: SkiMagazine@SkiWithStache.com) Now when I get the offers for Viagra addressed to that addy I know who sold my name and number.

Just got my Ski Magazine Gear Guide yesterday

meh

Amazing how bad is sucks, when there is such great info on line for reviewing gear.

I'm not a Ski Magazine hater though. I still love reading articles on various resorts.
