Somewhat surprised to see Northern Ski Works on the list when their top guy, Shon, left them to open his own shop.

Glad to see Nick Blaylock on the list. Nick fitted my wife with boots last year and did an awesome job. I'm hoping to pull the trigger this year. He did some adjustments to my wife's old boots and my current boots...always does great work. And a great guy to deal with.

I've got some happy feet thanks to Nick. Great guy and as a Mount Snow regular, incredibly convienent to have him right there in the base lodge if any tweaking is needed! :)

Hal from the Killington store? Don't know him. All I know is that Shon was 'the guy' in town when we had a home there from 85-2000

what is the purchasing experience with this type of service? do these shops typically sell the boots at a competitive price and charge fees for the fitting?

Any Surefoot store. NY city and K-mart are close. Custom made boots. Best fit I ever had.

Seriously? Surefoot is the P.F. Changs of boot fitting.

Shon is good, I am also surprised he wasn't there either...Maybe because the shop new and has only been open for a couple of seasons.

At Mt Snow Bootworks, It's an all in one price. You buy the boot, you get fitted....you need adjustments you come back and they adjust for no charge. When my wife bought her boots, we didn't really shop around. Even if we paid a bit more vs online or another shop, it was the fitting she was after.

Hal has been at Northern K for a long time.

At K, Ray at the Basin is considered to be tops also. But its SKI mag so you have to take it with a grain of salt...

I would like new boots this year. Currently have 06 or 07 Nordica Supercharger Ignitions with different footbeds and a couple of other tweaks. They are too roomy in the calves and have to be really cranked down to not feel sloppy. I'm tired of having to unbuckle my boots after every run. Also, they are just getting old/tired.

Not sure I can make it up to N Conway or VT for bootfitting. Are there any decent bootfitters in CT, Central or Eastern Mass?

Thanks

Dan
