Going tomorrow. BTW - Upper Cannon make not see this. I think there is a pipe problem. Notice a cat up there last week stopped about half way up.

No need for a sherpa at Cannon where I park. You up for the task when I come to Kton, lil fella!

WTF? You working on that ticket or what? I can set something up for the Institution with a little notice.

Do you know a good place that I can store my lunch box at Cannon? I have not been there in several years. My stashes are probably gone:evil:

Front 5 is skiing very nice. I was up there yesterday and they were cranking the snow out. Some good looking moguls on Rocket and sick whales on zoomer and avalanche. Lot of runs open for a change. Coverage was kind of thin at the summit though-great everywhere else.

Sorry Riv but I disagree.I take it you have not been yet?Everyone has had the same weather and with the exception of the Cat most big areas have 2-3 times the acreage.Loon actually has 60 acres more open than Cannon has for terrain without Mittersill (178).BW has 160 and Wallyworld has 120.I would estimate Cannon has less than 100.Cannon actually bragged on their snow report this morning that they opened 18 new acres since Monday in that great cold window we finally got.Wow really?Having said that I think this weekend will finally have some good skiing.Looks like at least another route on the top on a snowmaking in progress Upper Ravine.I'm headed there right now.Ski you later.

Just got back. Only guns going were on Ravine and the approach to. There were four others going near Tram Haus on Tramway. Upper Cannon has not seen a gun. I think there is line problem on it, having seen a Cat up there last week. Frontf four are skiing great. No love for Paulie's until they pull guns thru the trees. Vista is skiing very well given the limitied snowfall. Middle Ravine was a rink today. They need a serious upgrade in pumpping for the upper mountain and new gun tech.

Last time I was up was about two weeks ago. How can you compare Cannon to Loon for snow making power? That is just asinine. Of course Cannon has less open than Loon and other major resorts with massive snow making systems. I'm comparing Cannon to Cannon, especially considering the warm temperatures and lack of natural snow. Sure, they are behind normal but all things considered, I think they are doing quite well. Since I was there two weeks ago, they added Zoomer, Avalanche, Tram Cut Back, Vista, Upper Ravine, David's Detour, Chute, Middle Ravine, Lower Ravine, Paulie's Extension, and a little more in Tuckerbrook. That is pretty good for two week of snow making without much natural snow.

I am agreeing with you given the tech they havento work with. BTW under Cannonball Chair, there are a couple of guns laying flat and hoses. They are almost buried. WTF?

Nice huh? Those couple of guns made some nice snow in the trees to skiers left.Virtually nothing on Profile at all.Sorry riv but I disagree and I'm one of Cannon's biggest rumpswab.I know you are also but their snowmaking system is not on par with the mountains in their class period.I gotta call you out a little on your trail expansion report. As of when you posted Upper Ravine was not open, but did open on Saturday.Davids Detour and Vista Way are open natural snow only so have nothing to do with this conversation.I know I come off as being a little hard on Cannon but my eyes are here for 50+ days and nights(Mittersill house) since the 70's and I got to go with what I see.

Having pissed and moaned I will say I finally had some good runs, especially on Avalanche. They did make a ton of snow on Zoomer which has by far the most of any trail. My surprise fav was Vista Way which was a little boney but that natural snow was a very nice treat.

BTW. Guns and hoses on Profile were dug out yesterday. Profile was skiable on skier's left until the last 100yds. What is up with no snowmaking on Upper Cannon?

I'm with you on that one but I think they want to get Profile covered first which has the most visibility from below and especially from the lift.

sikskier.... no argument that Cannon's snow making system is sub-par compared to other mountains in its class. I just think they are going well considering the lack of natural snow and not much cold in December.
