Glad I went last weekend, I had a feeling this week's weather would be the KOD for Superstar. Nice of Killington to offer what's left for free this weekend. Have a great weekend and Summer all! I can now take my ski rack off the Subaru. Happy to see Killington's new found commitment to early/late operations, it's much closer to home than others in the game. It worked on me, I'm more interested to visit mid season than I was before too.
Given the intensity of the r*in we received last night and the forecast of significant r*in starting tonight through the day on Saturday, our operational plans have changed since last night’s communication. This weekend (May 25th & May 26th), we will be offering FREE skiing and riding for all at Killington! Walking between snowfields will be required in several spots. Ma Nature is charging into summer and has other things in mind for us other than skiing, like golf and Mt Biking. To push any remaining snow to make connecting bridges would only hasten the melt process. Please note we are now going to operate Saturday and Sunday only, from 8-5, on the Superstar lift and trail. So why their email that came at 430pm say it was going to be $29, in the drift? I'm confused.

We gave it our best shot to get into June, thus at the end of business on Sunday we are calling it a season. We thank all for your patronage and support this year. Don’t forget to buy your season passes for next year’s greatest value opportunity by June 13th! Remember only 130 days until we’re at it again for 2013-14!”

Scotty I got "The Drift" e-mail at 2:20 this afternoon & it said exactly what I posted. Yes yesterday they announced they'll be closed Fri & will be open Sat.-Mon. & charging $29 but I learned that from K's website & other postings, not from "The Drift".Okay I'm very happy that they made it this far, but at 430 pm as of today they should have not sent out an email saying it will be $29 maybe my email came late but definitely have it in my phone at 430. Hopefully some people on here have great time this closing weekend up their and I look foward to them opening up early so I can hopefully ski their in October it all goes well which I believe if we have cold.weather they open up that early.
I can't beleive they are opening on that! Mind you, I think it is great, and if it were feasible for me to do so, I would go.
There is no snow to farm from up higher. There is a picture taken late yesterday afternoon posted on K-Zone that shows most of the trail, not just the bottom like the web cam. There is a large section of lower middle Supe that has no snow at all & only a narrow band going up to the headwall from there. Bring your hiking boots if you plan on going. It's going to be sub freezing there tonight. they may farm snow from higher up. Maybe not...

Here's a funny thought, you see that final patch of snow? Probably as big as the vertical at Xanadu, yet people would flock to the novelty of an indoor ski area.
What vertical at Xanadu? When I pass it on the train ride in to work every day it looks flat like pancakes.
