Speaking of messes and n 93 in concord just drove by this…
How and why has this been happening so much lately!
In my mind I can still see some guys face that was driving the wrong way on 787 near Albany, looked like not a care in the world. Must be 30 years ago, hope he never crashed.

Getting rid of the scissor crossover for the onramp/offramp of 89 will help as traffic bound for 89N won't back up as much from that crazy merge. Have always thought half the problem is the pinch down to 2 lanes to/from exit 13. Get rid of that, keep it 3 to and from and that would solve at least a third of the congestion on normal days. Obviously wouldn't help with heavy recreational traffic headed North/South.
I 93 THROUGH CONCORD IS SUPPOSED TO BE WIDENED IN THE NEAR FUTURE, ALL IT WILL DO IS PUSH THE PROBLEM FURTHER NORTH. AND YES, THE RAMPS ARE SLATED TO BE RECONFIGURED AT THE I 89 INTERCHANGE. SORRY FOR THE CAPS, NOT SHOUTING!

To some extent. I wish this was being pulled all the way up to the Penacook/Exit 17. That would help more if the cut down occured at the speed jump. Plus, Exit 17 seems to be the end of the heavier local traffic on and off 93.

Possibly delayed. I know there is a lot of talk of raising toll rates in state to help reduce/eliminate the projected deficit. Been quite a while since NH raised toll rates and we've through at least one huge inflationary period in between for construction costs.

That said, the project doesn't even widen beyond exit 16. I feel like they should be taking it at least up to Exit 17 (Penacook) where the speed limit jumps up to 70. In all honesty, state should be wide ing at least to Tilton, and then add extended on and off lanes at Exit 23 for the Winni traffic.

Agreed

I had to drive 93 South from Tilton to Manchester this Saturday at 4PM. It was pretty brutal between Exit 15 to the 89 split, but also slowed significantly starting at 17.

Given the continued population increase along the 93 corridor, this project needs to be a priority.

The reason it is backed up at 17 is that from 15 to 89 it is and it just builds up. Like heading North it builds up at about the rest area but the issue is the drop of lanes at 89.

new zoomable map on the south peak website shows an additional four lifts, guessing around 1800' of drop, northwest facing blue cruisers

also shows the cross over trails

Nice find. Whenever this happens, Lincoln Express becomes a lynch pin sort of lift, likely requiring an upgrade to handle all the traffic transiting from one side of the resort to another.

It also seems to show some sort of new lift in the North Peak pod to skier's left of Flume topping out below Haulback? That seems somewhat bizarre.

Looks like east basin lift to me...

I don't think you're going to see heavy enough traffic traversing north to south or vice versa where Lincoln Express becomes an issue.
I guess we'll see. My theory of the case is that over time, Timbertown will become the primary entry point given its location closest to 93 and adjacent to town. In addition, one would imagine this sort of expansion generating a material increase in skier visits, increasing the pool of folks who may want to sample the expanded resort footprint But I guess we'll see and this is anyway at least 10 yrs off.

Good Lord, if they build out this South Peak Village, I have no idea where they are going to park everyone. The village is going in the fairly large South Peak parking lots at the bridge.

This conceptual also adds fuel to why the Pulse Gondi was delayed. Where it is projected to land is quite a schlep with gear uphill to Timbertown Quad. Now, if the first lift west of Timbertown were to be installed, those two would be convenient to one another, not to mention to the current overflow lots down there. Where that first new lift lands, doesn't really need new runs cut right now. Wonder if that is closer to install than any of us currently realize.

Hope it happens. Will be good for NH skiing overall. Help capture some Boston traffic from passing through to Vermont.

Maybe it will also help drive stalled expansion plans at Sunapee and Ragged.
