YesOld drive from the Lake Compounce lift?
Does anyone else here hate the look of new SkyTrac chairs (carriers)? They’re hideous IMHO. I like the classic Dopp/CTEC chairs.

I like Bacardi gold, butt if you've got the $
I believe that I read somewhere that Poma and Dopp have actually patented their chair designs and made it difficult for the (formerly) independent SkyTrac to make carriers. They've always looked like that, and yes pretty hideous for sure.
Well you CERTAINLY can't miss their distinctive appearance! And I am also in the "not a fan" of there look, even though many of my early chairlift rides were on a Riblet center pole double that has some resemblence to Sky Trac's current lookI believe that I read somewhere that Poma and Dopp have actually patented their chair designs and made it difficult for the (formerly) independent SkyTrac to make carriers.
They've been planning on having a "top down" system for quite some time. I am honestly surprised that they had not built that pond sooner. It's been in the works for decades.Pats Peak to construct 21 million gal snowmaking pond at top of resort and increase electric feed and water pumping capacity to 8000 GPM and over 200 guns simultaneously. Damn, with that type of firepower, if they get temps like we had this December, they could be 100% 10 days after they open possibly!
Well-timed on multiple fronts. Season pass sales just went live. And it looks like a warm-up to make folks ask who will have a resilient snowmaking product.Makes sense. We've had a cold winter, but many recently have been warm with short overnight snowmaking windows, especially for a low elevation place like Pat's.
They already have great snowmaking, so I am excited to see what even better looks like.
