Jay 1/7 and 1/8...disregard the icon. Was great.

Headed up to Jay after my leg felt better on Tuesday and they were at least spinning one upper mountain lift (Bonnie). It was between -20 and -30 with the chill and the place was an ice rink on the main trails. By far the slickest time I've ever had skiing. And to top it off 3-4 great trails that were listed as open on the report were closed. We were able to salvage it and had a good time hitting Lower Powerline which had 3-5" of fresh stuff on it, Showoff Glade, and I found some great unmarked trees off the Bonnie Quad that were loaded with snow that had blown in from the Bonnie area.

If you were willing to ski slow and look for tracks going into the woods, you could find it.

The trees off Bonnie led me to this, not quite sure but fun and some fresh(er) stuff.

Day 2 (1/8) started out better with trails off Goat Run open and the Jet running. Still nothing else. Talked with ski patrol after watching the Tram run back and forth and the guy said that some springs had popped up after the last warm spell and then frozen creating a large frozen pond/river down the trails from the Tram so there is no way to ski off the summit currently...awesome.

Started in Kitz Woods, which they closed immediately after we went through it. Bare and super slick. Then moved over to the stuff off Goat Run since we lapped the Bonnie area a bunch of it yesterday. North Glade was the run of the day. Hit it three times. Northwest Passage was also bare and slick so we avoided it. Was a pain having to take the Interstate Quad, ski over to Bonnie, and then Bonnie up to access everything on the right side but the trees were worth it. Some trails like Expo Glade and Kitzbuehel were open but deadly. Showoff Glade and Bonaventure Glade softened up nicely. Also found some nice unmarked cleared trees. All in all, given the weather, snow conditions, and lack of lifts it was a great time.

The gf in Kitz Woods, doing great for getting on skis for the first time last season. She's a trooper in the weather as well.

Looks like crust on dust in most places. That's great that your gf just started last year and is already confident enough to ski Kitz Woods.

I am thinking the same thing. Thanks for the report. Trying to decide where to go tomorrow. We've got vouchers for SB, Stowe and JP. Maybe things will be better on Saturday when we have a warm up before the rain.
