Arapahoe Basin

Conditions: soft fast PP up top and thick heavy snow lower down but skied well.

Trip Report:
Things are nearing an end but we did get lots of lift served skiing in June. The sun was strong being two miles up and sunburns were the result. In any case we had lots of fun. Everything skied well on the front side that was open but Montezuma Bowl was closed. We skied Lenawee Lift most of the time taking just about every route possible and mixed in some top to bottom runs now and then. The fastest conditions were higher up and nice spring bumps formed later in the day. The only real bump run was on High Moon. Lower Sundance bumped out later too. They had a band that was jammin' and we hung around for a bit before leaving. So now it is on to the last weekend as they have construction projects started and the base lodge will be closed.

Best spring skiing ever in my book!

What are the construction projects planned?

Any local word on the status of the terrain expansion?

Improvements in the base lodge at this point. Shop is boarded up and they are shutting down the Cafeteria to start work on that part. 6th Alley Pub is also going to be worked on. Other than that not sure.

I'll be there Sunday. One of the guys from pugski is gonna let me borrow his old Olin Mark III's for the pond skim. Will probably have disastrously funny results.

That would have been fun to see - and a great day to meet. Unfortunately, we will be there in Saturday due to other commitments on Sunday. If they were open until 4 then I would go Sunday as well.
