Resort or Ski Area: Hunter Mountain

Conditions: Man-made powder/man-made packed powder

Trip Report: One of my best days at Hunter really. There were no bad trails. I don't think I heard even a scratchy noise until well after lunch (other than a spot where a few guns had run wet at the bottom of Milky Way).

They were running snowmaking full-tilt all day, guns on on practically half the mountain at once. Clairs + Colonels Alt look like they've got plenty down although they probably need a day to move snow around. Rope dropped on Upper Crossover in the afternoon as well.

If not for the holiday crowds that are certainly coming, I'd be going back again this weekend, conditions are fantastic.

Will be there tomorrow. Glad to hear Upper Xover open, hope the same is true for Clairs tomorrow.

Will probably ski there Sat too with a free ticket since my 6 day pass is blacked out. I ignore the crowds.

Today was great. Clair's was buried in manmade. Skied myself stupid over there.

Upper Xover also excellent. 80% or so open now.

They are making up for the slow start.

The staff is very accommodating and they smile a lot. Which I like.
