Rolled into North Conway on Saturday, May 2nd. Ate some dinner and had some beers at the Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewery. I had the Pork, my wife (Candace) had the Brisket. Very tasty (beers were good too, especially the stout). Left the Holiday Inn Express (free room using points) at around 7:00 am, went to Hannaford to get lunch meats, and got on the trail at Pinkham Notch by 8:00.

Trail was good, mix of rocks and snow all the way up to HoJo's

Decent view of the ravine from just past Hojo's:

People were skiing Hillman's too (we didn't bother):

We made it up to the Ravine Floor around 10:45 or so. Snow was sweet, it was a little cloudy and not at all crowded yet.

After a hike up The Chute:

We looked down at the base of the Ravine (those little dots are people).

That last pic doesn't really do the steepness justice . . . It drops off pretty severely after that little knoll.

Anyway, we skied 2 runs and took a couple more pictures:

It was getting a little crowded so we ate some lunch and headed down the Sherburne Trail (which was open only about 1/4 of the way and had very thin cover - walking over grass for a lot of the way)

And we were off the trail by 3:00 to start the drive back to upstate NY. All in all, a totally successful trip.

Awesome. And for the record, the stout is fantastic at Moat.
