Two good mountains coming up in Dec. for Jeep owners in the MA area. I plan to go to both, can't beat free ski tickets.

Dates Corrected:

Sat December 20, 2002 Wachusett Mountain, MA
I've actually not been to Wachusett yet, so this is a good reason to go.

Mon December 29, 2002 Nashoba Valley, MA
An old favorite little dinky mountain. Probably not worth the drive for anyone not close to Acton/Nashoba, MA. I'll probably be down that way anyway visiting friends/family for the holiday and will bring my daughter there again for old time's sake.

Hmmm.... Maybe I will too as I've never been. My father-in-law, brother-in-law, and myself all own Jeeps so any of us could drive... 8)

Hey, Jon - how do you get yourself to drive South to go skiing?

Heh, I do not do this normally other than going slightly south to Killington. I used to goto Mount Snow a lot. But now in general the more north the better. I recently moved to VT last June from NH/MA, so most of the people I know are down that way. I head down to MA ever other weekend for day or so.

I'll be looking forward to going to Jay Peak in March :)

I'm three miles from Nashoba but I won't be at a Jeep Day. Luckily they have 4 chairs to the top so hopefully the lines won't be too long for you guys. By the way, there is no actual town of Nashoba.

Ascutney is one of central Vermont's best kept ski secrets. Back in college, we knew a guy who's father had an A-frame right on the mountain, across the street from the hotel parking lot. Great memories, including one of my best friend getting lost at the base of the mountain until about 4 AM after we hiked it and rode a toboggan down...

There must've been something clouding our judgment...

Anyway, cool mountain to ski...

I like Ascutney a lot. We used to go there with some friends who have a condo in Brownsville, but I haven't been ther since they put in the new chair and went to the top of the mountain (now 1800' of vertical?). Ascutney is a great family hill with lots of people who know how to ski and take it (relatively) seriously. Very mellow and just right for weekend family use.

4AM tobagganing down the hill? Definitely sounds like artificial stimulation to me......

Damn. Thanks for catching that. I'm terrible with dates. Well, at least I can probably hit Wachusett so long as the conditions make the trip worth it. Otherwise, I'm not sure I can pass on a Saturday ski day up here in VT.

Possible, possible......yesterday I ran it by my bro who owns the Jeep and he was psyched. Real close to Xmas though, could present problems if the family has other plans.......thanks for the reminder!
