Snow Conditions
  1. Packed Powder
Spent my second day out for the season at Sunapee. Certainly was a firm day out on the snow, and it got skied off pretty quickly, with only one run from the top available. The route was Bonanza, to Old Goat, down Westside through the Beck brook and down onto Lower Blastoff. The lower part of the mountain was soft and carvable, but the top was pretty chopped up and all. Crowds were managable, as there wasn't too many people there, but any day out on the mountain is a good day.

Couple of photos:

nice pics you can see Okemo and Killington in the distance. Last year I think it was upper and lower Blastoff to start the season.

Skied for a few hours Monday Dec 5th. Same terrain as Bostonian reported. Good base and surface conditons. Big snowmaking mounds on Upper Blastoff and Skyway ledges as they appear to be next to open. Employees outnumbered customers probably 2 to 1 so hopefully the staffing issue is solved.

I was up there on Sunday, there was 2 or 3 inches of new snow. The mountain says they have a 30 inch base. I didn't ski, butt did bomb around the area on a Bike. Good crowd....

Sunapee is a good mountain for a ski - off.

1) Not steep.
2) No bad areas.
3) Rack -It

Ski offs have a long and storied history, mostly in movies.

It is imperative that we bring this institution back.
