Hey all,

I'm back from another fun session at Blue mountain. I arrived at 4PM and it was 45 degrees with strong winds..crowds were light to moderate with several buses but way less people than a typical evening mainly due to this prolonged warm spell. As I was riding the 6-pack, I saw Phillycore on homestretch so I waited for him at the top. We first skied Paradise which was hero snow along with leaves, twigs and whatever else blew in the wind. The strong winds were out of the west so the top section of Paradise was fast but the bottom was right into the wind which required an aerodynamic bullet tuck. We then skied Razors which was much faster..but alot of piles of snow..which my Nordica Blowers flew threw with ease. Switchback was fun and Phillycore aparently lost a poll. Alot of punkass kids were throwing snowballs at random people which was pretty funny..I would say middle school kids outnumbered adults 3:1..

Phillycore and I continued to rack up the runs hitting Lazy Mile, Challenge, Razors, Switchback and Dreamweaver numerous times. When it got dark, the snow remained soft...there were two liftline organizers for the 6-pack and the quad was running making our longest liftline about 2 minutes. Ski Patrol was busy practicing their sleds on Challenge and getting ready for their Thursday night afterwork festivities....yes Corona lights and circle jerks. Phillycore and I left around 7PM, I skied 17 runs in total and Phillycore probably skied about 25 runs since he hit the snow an hour and a half before me. Due to all the tucking...my legs were a little sore but they also haven't had a rest day in more than a week..Anyway I'll be back at Blue tomorrow ready to shred the gnar..will anybody else be there?????

Nice report GSS. do you bring more than 1 pair of skis to the hill and switch around depending on how the day goes or do you just pick one and stick with it no matter what?

i was looking at the specs on the blowers last night. i can't imagine skiing on something so wide.

I usually ski on the same pair of skis my entire session but I have switched skis midsession due to harder or softer than expected conditions. I had my Elan S12s at 67mm underfoot along with my Nordica Blowers at 110mm underfoot. I was set on skiing my Blowers with a temperature of 45 degrees and visible piles of smashed tators and I saw Rodney in the parking lot who confirmed conditions were soft..anyway life was much simpilar when I just had one pair of skis..now I have 6..:snow:

Before my recent Jackson Hole trip, I never skied on anything as wide as my Blowers and they took a little getting used to I now really enjoy them as long as it's not smooth solid ice..the blowers crave a little texture to plow through..and they are 193cm in length so they are fa fa fa fast..

What did you PA guys do with Moe? Haven't seen him around in a while.

He was just at Jay Peak..and will likely be skiing Blue next week..he hasn't been posting much on PASR either..and Phillycore and AtomicSkier haven't been on here much either..The only PA person posting lately seems to be PhilPug AKA IHART and he doesn't even ski in PA and only skied Blue two seasons ago because he lost a bet..
