resort or ski area: Black Mountain, NH

conditions: sunny, overcast, 1"snow

trip report: 1 trial from the summit was groomed and everything else has crust. Most of the lower montain was groomed & open.Any of my numerous attempts to try ungroomed end up in face plant. Crowd non-existent. groomed trails were in great conditions not scraped even at the end of the day. didn't get to ride first chair but, managed to get to the last chair.
my my daughter and I had great day she for the first time rode tow and stand probably 1/2 of the day there. Best trails for the day: Big Deeper, Maple Slalom and upper Jackson standard.

OT: we stayed in new Grand hotel ....breakfasts there absolutely must for $10 I got enough "gas" to get me going all day up until dinner and it was delicious

resort or ski area: rugged mountain, NH

conditions: overcast temperature was 1F when we got there and slowly rising through the day.

This is absolutely unbelievable change compared to last year. Both mountain open. They even making snow on "Main Street" and I was told on Flying Yankee. Same story with crust on on ungroomed trails only crust here much much thicker compare to BM trails were slightly scraped by about 2 o'clock. Jr.racing where going on exhibition which contributed to about 60% off crowd at the lift. Even with racing most wait time was no longer than 10 minutes.

went on Spear Mountain only twice because lift very slow employee I spoke with said new owners have plans to replace old Spear Mountain lift with high-speed and opened new mountain in the next five years. Spear Mountaint has great trails.
Best trails of the day Birches, show boat (which probably have longest and steepest section of the trail on the mountain) headwall (before it got scraped) and exhibition after the race My daughter like: lower rider, easy winder, Catdigon Turnpike( which is green but some sections very similar and as steep as 10-th mt at WaWa which is black)
didn't get to ride first chair but, got to the last one. Overall great day especially day before rain

I'll second that ragged report. Snowmaking occured on newfound ridge and main street and village green all day sat, all night, and most of the day sunday. I did get frst chair both days, 6-pack on saturday and Spear triple on sunday. I think I might have ridden last chair with you on sunday. I had an orange soft-shell and helmet with lange stickers on it.

I talked to their marketing and sales rep and she said they're gonna be replacing the northeast peak and village green doubles frist, as a way to get people up to their mountain restaurant.
