I've given up.

My 5-year old wants to learn to snowboard (he can rock the mountain on skis already). So we're gonna learn together this year. I'm sure I'll regret this. Being almost 50 and having a 5-year old doesn't align with falling on your butt all day. But we'll have fun.

Keep me posted. I haven't been on a board for years. I'll have to rent one after you guys have a few days on the hill. But if Jeff's son spots us...he's gonna want in...then Jeff is gonna pissedowitz at us.

The funny thing is that I almost won a brand new, yet to be released to the public 2012 model year Kelly Clark signature Burton Board at her golf tournament on Sunday (everyone on the winning team got 1, along with a bunch of other stuff, and my team tied for 2nd). That would have caused some even greater "Daddy, when can I learn to snowboard?" comments from D! Right now, one of the big things that stops him, is that on his skis, he can get around the parks and pipe pretty darned well, but he'd be back to a beginner on a board for a bit, and I don't think that he wants to give up his jumps and rails right now! :)

That board would have been a cool-owitz thing to win. Sorry I couldn't join you this year. Congrats on 2nd place. I expect a better effort at the Make A Wish VT tourney, especially with the 3 ringers that are joining this hacker.

I emailed Erika and she's up for some private knuckle-dragger lessons with Mark winter. If you're inclined, maybe we can put the boys together. I'm sure she'd love it. Plus, they could do it at Grommet in the late afternoon while we "observe and rehydrate". And we could tip her at the end of the day with food and refreshments.

Congrats on 2nd Jeff!

I still have my vintage Burton boots from the mid 90's. Althought, the outter part of one of the toes is starting to flake off...and the liner is falling apart. But man, those things are comfy.

my goal for 2013:
1. take advantage of the snow that will fall this winter.
2. ski as much as possible
