And they're off!

Shiffrin's got the ladies SL tied up for the forseeable future. She's got her work cut out of her on GS though. A fall two gates before the finish? Egads!

What's this with Vonn and a DNF yesterday? Looked to me on the slow mo that her binding released in the rear as she was digging a deep carve. Strange.

Well, we're off to a good start.

No love for Ligety's win on the Glacier in Söelden last month in the opening GS, or Shriffin's 2nd place in the women's GS there, or Travis Ganong's 3rd place today in the DH at Lake Louise Billski?? ;-)

A solid start for a DEEP US Ski Team this year!! As for Vonn, let's see what happens when the women hit Lake Louise next week for their 1st speed events of the year, she historically has owned that hill!! Plus Shiffrin gets the SL hill at Aspen again tomorrow in the make up race from the SL they had to cancel in Levi, Finland a few weeks ago! :flag:

Eurosport is carrying it live and via 7-day replay availability. They have knowledgeable announcers (Nick Fellows) and/or just the sound of the crowd and the skis, love it!)I use it regularly, but it will cost you. You need a VPN account to Europe ($50-ish per year), and a Eurosport subscription ($70 / 6 months I think).

CBC is not carrying it.

Even better yet is a DNS proxy. With a VPN, all traffic goes through the VPN's network. With a DNS proxy, only location data goes through a network other than your own. The video itself is transmitted directly to you from the provider. I use Ironsocket, and I have been extremely pleased.

Here is some more info:
https://ironsocket.com/why-dns-proxy

Here is a list of channels that it will work with:

Ironsocket also includes a VPN subscription, so it's a good bank for the buck. I have a legacy rate that's super cheap, but even their regular rate is not that bad.

Right where I want to be
There you go Smelly, we have critical mass. Now don't go bitching when you can't get a seat at the WC's in Kmart next year. :)

I will be no where near K for that. If I happen upon it on TV I will watch a couple of runs but it is like car racing where I am only excited by crashes.
