Even if you only take the last 10 years as you're suggesting (which I'd argue is flawed to begin with as opposed to a more historical context), and draw a mean line through it, it's about a 10% variance. That's not insignificant to Canadian families who were already "splurging" by paying more for everything in America. There comes a psychological point in buyer behavior where people say, "no mas" - I'd say this is close to that point. Especially when you combine this data with the knowledge that the Canadian economy is doing poorly right now. Not everything is as simple as, "Orange Man bad".
Okay, here is a longer graph. You're really going to tell me the last 10 year isn't one of the flatter parts? Fine, I give up. As for political affiliation, I'm not part of either cult, I'm just hear to check facts.

If I was Lord of Jay for a day the install I would do is put back the short'ish double that'd unload near the tram. That area is underserved capacity, and a slow double would be low-capacity enough that it would right-size it.

I wonder what happened to the Bonnie-6. Bill Stenger had promised it all the way back in 2012 or so!

i'd really appreciate a short double from somewhere on goat run to next to the tram house. its so annoying to ski the face and valhalla. all these looky loos queuing an hour to ski the groomer off the top

Was that from top of the flyer to the top of the tram? That’s the lift that would make sense. So much wasted terrain up top because I can’t be bothered waiting for the tram.

Looks like before the Flyer they had a lift on that same line that ended much further down. You got to the Skyline from the predecessor to the Bonnaventure, which was a double that went up what is now the 601 trail.

Canada - US flight bookings down 70% … if you think this is due to a weak Canadian dollar, I have a bridge I’d like to sell you

Something doesn’t smell right.

The article is talking about reduction of flight capacity of last year! Up to October 2024 to be exact. That’s BEFORE Trump was elected.

So, whatever the reason for reduced travel between US and canada, Trump isn’t it.

Unless Trump drops tariffs on season passes, maybe kindly refrain from this topic of why we may see fewer stretch pants and speedos in this country in 2025. Plenty of other places on the Internet to discuss international politics and economica

Thanks

Hahaha, that's more than my Ikon and Indy combined with enough left over to fly out west. . I learned to ski at Windham. It's ok but if I'm ever doing the Cats again in my lifetime, I'm going to Platty. The Belleayre pass is not bad when you throw in Gore and Whiteface.

I really think my prediction here is coming true. That Windham wants to go private & they're intentionally going to sink the ship to use that as an excuse that it's, "the only way we can survive". It's the ski resort version of the plot to Major League.

That said, if you're local to the Cats, you should have been at Platty in the first place.

Belleayre and Killington/Pico season pass for me next year. May spring for the 3 in 1 for NY, but doubtful.

I've had the Beast 365 pass for 3 seasons and have yet to visit any Ikon areas. Just a waste of money for me. I've learned I'm not interested in having access to all those places and just prefer going to the places I like most. That'll save me $600 right there.

Sounds like somebodies equipment budget just went up!
