Even if you only take the last 10 years as you're suggesting (which I'd argue is flawed to begin with as opposed to a more historical context), and draw a mean line through it, it's about a 10% variance. That's not insignificant to Canadian families who were already "splurging" by paying more for everything in America. There comes a psychological point in buyer behavior where people say, "no mas" - I'd say this is close to that point. Especially when you combine this data with the knowledge that the Canadian economy is doing poorly right now. Not everything is as simple as, "Orange Man bad".
Okay, here is a longer graph. You're really going to tell me the last 10 year isn't one of the flatter parts? Fine, I give up. As for political affiliation, I'm not part of either cult, I'm just hear to check facts.

If I was Lord of Jay for a day the install I would do is put back the short'ish double that'd unload near the tram. That area is underserved capacity, and a slow double would be low-capacity enough that it would right-size it.

I wonder what happened to the Bonnie-6. Bill Stenger had promised it all the way back in 2012 or so!

i'd really appreciate a short double from somewhere on goat run to next to the tram house. its so annoying to ski the face and valhalla. all these looky loos queuing an hour to ski the groomer off the top

Was that from top of the flyer to the top of the tram? That’s the lift that would make sense. So much wasted terrain up top because I can’t be bothered waiting for the tram.

Looks like before the Flyer they had a lift on that same line that ended much further down. You got to the Skyline from the predecessor to the Bonnaventure, which was a double that went up what is now the 601 trail.
