The only time I have ever seen video of fencing is Star Trek: TNG.

I doubt I am alone on that one.... :lol:

Fencing seems very interesting. What is not to like about one on one sword competition!?? That is the freaking real deal, screw ball sports, line up against someone and all that is between you are two steel swords, nice! I bet it would get more national attention if the attire of fencing didn't look so goofy. Safety first, though!

It's either Sulu or Guinan's big butt..

I remember loving the Sulu scene when I was a kid. I wonder if fencing became more popular because of the Trek scenes?

Joking aside about Star Trek, I am completely ignorant about fencing, other than briefly chatting with WJenness about it at the Loaf last year. This thread prompted me to do some browsing on the subject and it looks quite interesting! Thanks for sharing!

That scene is the most exposure that I've had to fencing as well, and is what pops into my head when I hear the word fencing.
