Courier has a negative connotation because it's used as the default font when shit goes wrong in printing.

The real evil is Comic Sans:

Comic Sans should be eliminated with extreme prejudice.

The HR girl at my previous company had Comic Sans set as her default font for her email... it made annoying HR emails infuriating to read.
