For those who didn't see it, here is the Boston Globe Article on the incident that took place during Thursday night's Red Sox/Yankees game when a spectator took a swipe at Sheffield/the ball delaying the game and causing security to break up what could have been a brawl by escorting the fan out of the stadium.
I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan, but after watching the replay several times, it is pretty clear to me that this guy was going after Sheffield. He should feel ashamed and maybe even banned from any more Sox games. Regardless of what his motives really were (getting the ball or going after Sheffield) he crossed the line that separates spectators from atheletes.
I hate to say it, but I give props to Sheffield for keeping as cool as he did. :-?
