The widespread moderate to heavy synoptic snowfall has ended across the
North Country leaving a general 8-16" across populated regions and one to
two feet across the higher elevations. Here in Albany, I measured 15.5" in
the backyard.

Snow has been redeveloping across the northern CPV as of 5pm and has been
persistent in the northern Adirondacks and northern New York late this
afternoon. Another area of snow associated with the upper level trough and
some lake enhancement is moving through central/north-central NY at this
time. This area of lift will swing through Vermont overnight and models are
showing enhanced H7 omega lift over the northern Green Mountains developing
after 10pm tonight. Good convergence in the central and northern CPV and
across the west slopes of the Green Mtn spine should cause snow to become
steadier later this evening and tonight with additional accumulations of up
to 3" in the valleys, including the greater Burlington area, and 3-6" from
MRG/SB northward along the spine.

Gusty NW winds will be strengthening overnight and the snow may fall heavy
at times late tonight across the ski resorts, with periods of snow
persisting through early afternoon tomorrow in the higher elevations. I am
forecasting an additional 4-8" in the next 24 hours (say closing bell
tomorrow) in total from Sugarbush northward with 2-5" along the southern
Green Mountains from Mount Snow to Killington. The northern Adirondacks
should see an additional 3-6" with 1-4" elsewhere across the 'Dacks. Look
for a coating-2" of additional accumulations across upstate NY, with the
exception being the northern Catskills where some orographic enhancement
should allow for 1-3" of additional accums.

Winds could cause some lift problems tomorrow but overall, this does not
look like a widespread wind hold sort of situation...more of the touch and
go variety.

Enjoy the powder and send some reports in for those of us who aren't able to
ski till Tuesday (ahem).

-Scott

PS: Next snowfall event will be a decent looking clipper system on Monday
night and Tuesday which, at this time, looks like 1-3" for the valleys and
3-6" for the mountains. Winter's not done yet.
