avoid the gondola if you can after 10:00am. unless it;s a chilly day.

good terrain is east(sunbowl/kidderbrook)or west(snowbowl) of the frontface. sun starts out on the east.

you can park at the sunbowl area and get to the top by taking the shooting star lift. lots of good terrain on that chair and the Ursa Express.

the Kidderbrook area has got nice terrain and wind protection. however, the kidderbrook chair is the slowest quad ever....even slower than the skyepeak and snowden quads at killington. there is bypass left to get back to the shooting star lift. also, don;t take lower middle brook back to sunbowl unless you like flat green trails.

there is a lodge middle of the mountain-on the top of the south american lift, bottom of the North American trail. that;s the best place to break for lunch IMO.

good trails on the frontface are upper standard and North American. also Tamarack is good.

goodluck!

When I ski Stratton I usually end up skiing off of the Sunrise Express 6 or the Shooting star 6 which drops you at the peak. Lots of choices from there. If you get crazy for some steep terrain try world cup it should have some nice bumps...Upper Down Easter is also fun its off the Shooting star 6. Have fun!!

I'm sure you already know but take a few dollars with you, you'll might need them.
Favorite trails: Sunriser Supertrail, Upper Middlebrook off the Sunrise and Shooting Star 6 packs.
Over at the Snow Bowl lift we always liked Get my Drift and upper and lower Drifter. Even though it's only a green the Work Road was kind of interesting also.
You can get a lot of vert in with all those high speed 6 packs.
Hit it!!

Boss-Went there today for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised. Certainly nothing overly difficult. Their black runs are about as steep as Dipper or Willoughby at Burke. Conditions were pretty decent. Pretty windblown on the "west" side. Some loose granular on top of edgeable crust.
If you're going because you have a voucher, you've got to go to the main base lodge. If not, go to Sun Bowl lodge.
I've got to question your sanity though, by going on a weekend! ;)
Have fun!

Well, due to the cold temps and high winds, we're going to take another raincheck on Stratton  Maybe next weekend.
