Rather than pay some company to put on a day clinic for us, why don't we put our heads together and create one of our own?

Figure out how much it would cost to get a world-class instructor, divide the cost by the number of us interested and voila!

Many, many years ago I took instructors lessons at the massive mount of Nashoba, but couldn't afford to be an instructor and student.

Getting a group together with one top notch instructor would be cool. What level would be taught?

The "what level" question is why having only 1 instructor would be tough. One of the first things I would do is ski everyone off to see how they ski. I can guarantee that even if we got a group of only 10 skiers to commit to a clinic on bump skiing, once we got to the mountain and skiied off we would find that varying perceptions of ability would make teaching in one group very tough.

Better to assume you will want at least 2 instructors to address this inevitability. Then you could have a "fast" group and a "slower" group. You have to address the comfort issue right away or learning is compromised.

It is not hard to find instructors who are willing to hire themselves out for private clinics such as these. But you must be careful to obey the rules and etiquette of the ski schools they come from. Some hills frown upon underground lessons and will discipline instructors who hire themselves out.

You can also hire PSIA development team members or PSIA examiners for the same purpose, it just costs a bit more.
