Another Bronx Zoo TR-1/16/2010

Since the weather was beautiful yesterday and another hectic semester is starting this week, decided to take the kids to the Bronx Zoo to make the most of it. Had some terrible sciatica late in the week but it was mostly subsided and moving around seemed to help it a bit. The kids had a blast! The tigers and snow leopards were more active than we've ever seen before. We finally saw the red panda (usually he's hiding). No crowds. Even met up with some friends who were in the area for the day! Making the most of our membership....

A few photos.... not great. I had some Err 99 issues (the Canon 10D is notorious for this, especially with non-Canon lenses and I had the Sigma 55-200mm zoom on, but there were a few gems.

Beautiful kids! we used to go there alot with our kids. they used to have a membership that gave you a great discount. i think the coney island aquarium was included. nature conservancy? so worth it it if you go a few times.

Yes, the membership is great! Includes all their zoos in the area (like Central Park Zoo) plus the aquarium and it was only $150 for our family plus one free guest each trip and 4 passes for free parking. Since we got the membership in June, we've been to Bronx Zoo 4 times and the aquarium at Coney Island. I'd like to get the kids into NYC before the year is up to see the Central Park Zoo, too.
