Any cruising runs at Sugarbush?

Have to admit, I don't understand this post. There are plenty of good blues on the far right at LP and right down the middle of ME. No, every trail is not the same, but is that what you want? And if so, why?

Yes, I said ME has tons of great cruisers. I was complaining about what I perceived to be (relative) paucity of cruisers at LP.

As to the blue runs on North Lynx Peak, they are really, really nice runs, but the presence of trees (Birch Run) or chairlifts (Hot Shot-Water Fall) is the fly in the ointment.
I can't give a perfect 10 as a "cruiser" if you have to negotiate with obstacles along the run. Probably personal preference. Anyway, Birch Run was one of my favorites, as it was somewhat reminiscent of tree runs in the West.

Somebody mentioned Jester-VH Traverse-Snowball/Spring Fling. Yes, I find that route to be the best cruiser at LP, but as I said earlier, Jester is too winding and VH Traverse is too flat. Unfortunately VH Double was not operating today, so you couldn't avoid the flat traverse.

Overall, I like Sugarbush and will keep coming back. I just wanted to find out if I wasn't looking hard enough for a cruiser at LP.

Yep, I kinda thought snowball was a blast - esp as first run of the day with nobody on it.....I'm a bit puzzled too by the thread.

Agree SB is no Bretton Woods or Okemo but plenty of fine places to cruise.....together with fantastic variety to poke around.

SB is right there as the finest overall ski experience in NE IMO.

My wife's favorite mountain is Sugarbush (as it is myself and my two kids, 7 and 10). She is a pure blue cruiser skier. She likes both mountains.

If you are talking about multiple wide top-to-bottom blues that all ski the same, no SB doesn't have that. Maybe that's why SB is our favorite mountain. Lots of variety for all abilities.

but as I said earlier, Jester is too winding

This is a first for me. I've never heard someone complain about a trail being too winding. If anything winding is what makes a trail a great cruiser. Point em' downhill and turn as the trail turns.

To each their own I guess. It sounds to me like Okemo, Stratton or Mt. Snow would be a better area than Sugarbush for what you're looking for. Perhaps Stowe also. Stowe's intermediate cruising terrain is highly under rated.

I agree, the winding part is what I love about Jester.

So the problem isn't that LP doesn't have cruisers. It's that it doesn't have the wide, straight, monotonous cruisers you prefer. Let's see, the requirements include:

1) No trees

2) Not too many twists or turns

3) No flat areas

Have I missed anything? Aside from the choices at ME, you may be better off staying south of Rt. 4.

Right, and SB even has all that stuff, just not on the part of the mountain where he wants them.

It was the criticism of Birch Run that really had me scratching my head. That thing is so wide that you can easily make it top to bottom without coming anywhere near a tree. I never do that, of course, as the trees and the fun stuff around them, together with developing bumps is what makes that run one of my favorites.
