does anyone know of any demo days left? i checked the thread in the gear forum, but didn't see much at the asc resorts. i did see many demo days this year, every time i've been at k-ton the demo tent was closed. i'd like to check out some gear and possibly get some 05/06 gear on the cheap. thanks.

I went and paid to demo 3 skies and it was around $40 for the day. When I returned them at the end of the day they gave me a really nice deal on them and since I bought the skies the demo was free. Most of the shops are looking to unload demo skies at the end of the year.

At Sunday River you demo right out of the back of the ski shop. $50 gets you all day with as many changes to different pairs of skis as you want, and if you buy there within some time frame (I forget what it is) the demo price is deducted. They'll sell you the demo pair if and only if they don't have that ski, that size, available new in the shop.

The sales at SR right now are very good. 2 weeks ago I demoed Rossignol Bandit B2's (having tried them earlier elsewhere) and decided to buy a pair on the spot. Total inclusive cost of the demoing, the new pair of skis, Axial 2 bindings, and mounting, was only $530. I am led to believe that full retail would have been $1,000.
