Ascutney began cranking the snow guns some time yesterday. Really suprising coming from a mountain that rarely makes snow this early. They usually begin making snow after killington has been skiing for a few weeks. I guess the grants from the state to access more power and their purchase of 2 new generators is paying off.

Last weekend wasn't really cold enough. Remember Ascutney opens from mid station down (doesn't make sense) therefore they need it to get pretty cold before making some snow. I don't think they are pushing to get open but instead to lay down a base for future snowmaking operations.
