Well your thoughts? It makes sense both the rocketman and Bonds got better with age, im surprised to see Andy on that list, that must hurt those yankee fans a bit , Gagne? ummm ya. Baseball is a joke right now , players are all doing it from all 30clubs as stated today, its a shame but us dumbass fans will still pay to go see them play and support them.

So with all of the jets fans and the NY media putting astericks after the Pats super bowls and this season you would think that in all fairness they would forfit the world series wins and delete them from the record books.

Let the spin machines start flying! Should be REAL interesting to see what happens. One thing for certain, I bet Migel Tejada is real happy he signed his big new contract on WEDNESDAY ;)

This morning on WEEI they were talking about a memo from Theo Epstien indicating that Gagne was steroid guy and his body wouldnt hold up. Apparently Epstein knew this before giving up two young players to aquire the guy.

How about the Brewers shelling out over $10M for Gagne a couple days before the report is made public.

I be the first to say that Doquette has been vindicated in the decision not to overpay for Clemens. When he left Boston he had two-three subpar year, coming off from injuries and Doquette thought he was on the decline. Then Clemens goes to toronto and the yanks to be the dominate pitcher he once was. When Consenco came out his book, some were talking that pitchers were the biggest user. IMO, being juiced prolonged his career.

Lets be honest about one thing, the 80people who got caught wrote personal checks etc. The smart ones paid in cash and went to mexico.

Not to vindicate any player who abused his body and deceived fans by juicing, but I feel that as much of the blame here lies with the poers that be in MLB. Back in the early-to-mid 90's, when baseball was attempting to recover from the last strike/lockout, guys like Sosa, Cansenco and McGuire started hitting homeruns like had not been seen in a long, long time. People started to show interest in baseball again. Buying tickets, watching on TV. Making the owners' cash boxes bulge. The owners and MLB chose not to notice that these guys were bulked up beyond any plausable explanation. They seemed to take a "don't ask, don't tell" stance. It was only when the steroid and growth hormones caused serious illness, injury and death were the powers forced to even look at what was going on.

Players did the drugs because they got paid more because of the results of using the drugs.

In regards to McGuire and Sosa, that was when I came back to baseball after the strike. World Series in my backyard helped too. But once the ****** started showing up, I was pretty turned off by the entire thing. Haven't watched a game of baseball since a year or two before the Sox one the first time in my lifetime, and I could really care less. There is so much wrong with baseball right now, but people still pay big bucks to watch. Baseball is lucky it is so ingrained in the culture of America right now. Any other sport would be the laughing stock of the country right now but for blind fans shrugging and looking the other way because their team culture is more important than perceived individualness of much of the crap, which is really embedded in the culture of the sport and its management.

I must admit, when I was a kid I cheated at Battleship. I would move my ship if it was hit. That's why I hated electronic Battleship.

Seriously, I think if pro athletes want to shorten their lives with steroids and such let them. Tell the drug companies we'll legalize it if they come up with a positive testing procedure for each drug they come out with. That way we can test high school, college and all other amateurs. Make the pros into voluntary guinea pigs for the advancement of the drugs. Then if your loved ones need steroids or HGH for a disease or injuries the drugs will be more effective and safer.

I know I'm not too bright so feel free to :flame: away if you disagree.

Not a Bad concept Mildcat !!

Altho personally i don't give a Lab Rat's ass for Most PRO athletes.

While some DO contribute to worthy causes , for the most part they are spoiled , self centered , under-developed , overhyped carbunkles on humanity's posterior- who contribute little of substance to society

The real heros who contribute to advancement of mankind are everyday working folks who quietly yet sometimes heroically contribute to OUR collective betterment in their chosen fields . I suspect many here at AZ fit that description

I'm okay with Andy P. coming clean & I'll believe him, he's never been a power guy & he's had his share of mediorce outings the last couple of years. Let's see if anyone signs the Rocket this year? (Rumor has it he is considering coming back, i wonder it that depends if Barry gets a job DH'ing)

What's the Milwaukee papers saying about Gagne?

A-Rod say's he's clean on 60 Minutes, if he does test positive, we'll all forget about Palmero's silliness getting caught.

Glad the Tek rumors were not true.
