From reading their web page, it seems that the resort allows skiing to general public for a stiff $75 with an advance reservation. It has 1200 vertical feed is a green and blue mountain. Guido's review http://tinyurl.com/yg7mfbw makes a good point. If you're looking for a no-stress, low key holiday ski day and don't mind the price, this could be an interesting change. However, I can think of 3 or 4 other places to go on a holiday with few crowds. It's open Thursday through Sunday.

Have you been there? I'd be interesting in hearing more from people who have been there.

I have skied there a number of times. It is entertaining. The trail under the lift is a bit cliffy. Anytime it snows a bunch you can count on some great powder untracked on that trail. If you go you are usually 1 of about 10 skiers on the mountain. Since they are closed mid week the snow all week piles up untracked. They have one immaculately groomed intermediate cruiser top to bottom to keep the folks who like that very happy and no one will run them over because no one is there to create traffic. The rest of the trails were usually kept natural when I was there. The thing to remember is that plymouth is a snow capitol of Vermont so serious snow piles up on that mountain. It definately skis much bigger than you would think in terms of top to bottom skiing.

We had the opportunity to got there 2 years ago . . . it was a Sunday afternoon after a rare New England powder dump on Saturday. We were hitting untracked trails 25 hours later. We had a great time there and wished the concept was a little further along from a real estate perspective.

The food was pretty good in the clubhouse too!

I think it would be worth doing. Even more so after a good dump (err. . . of snow).

Sounds like Black, NH. Good stuff; encouraging. What does "cliffy" mean? Thanks!

Steeper than you would think due to a somewhat vertical rocky section of the trail that when covered with snow provides more than enough pitch to ski seriously deep snow.

Interesting - hit it up on a Thursday following a good week.....worth the $75 bucks easy...
I'm enjoying this "out of the box" thinking, rather the traditional method of whining about how crowded/windy/icy the place was.

Reminds me of Suicide Six. I got "rock star parking" (as my buddy would say), first slot, was on the slopes in 10 minutes, door-to slope. Well, maybe 15 minutes. the only reason I had to wait for lunch is because they cooked it special for me. I suspect Bear Creek would be the same. Not that you can't get this service at other areas, but you can do that anytime at S6.

First time I've heard S6 mentioned here :) It's my home area when I'm in VT.

Welcome! Look around through the archives, it's been talked about for a while now. You'll find posts scattered about the archives/prior messages, including a TR or two. I find if you dangle a little meat, the wolves will bite...
