I decided to head up to Belleayre for the 2nd half of the day. Ive been nursing a sprained MCL so Im trying to ease myself back in.
Wasnt sure if I should even bother going today. I figured with all the rain from sunday into monday then the dramatic drop in temps that mountain would be totally bullet proof.
Well I was wrong. Honestly not bad, they must have had snowmakers out last night because most of the main artery trails had gotten covered with a decent layer and the groomers did a good job loosening everything up on the rest of the other trails.
They were blowing snow throughout the day on a few others and looks poised to rapidly make their way across the mountain over the next day or so. Most of the trails with permanent guns had their hoses hooked up.
Almost felt like a normal 'good day'.
