Awesome snow conditions at Belleayre on ground hog day. The mountain was virtually empty. Got a little dusting of snow from mother nature in the afternoon which is always appreciated. Both the mogul trails and groomers were awesome. You got to wonder when the spring rains are going to take away these excellent snow conditions.

After making snow on upper Utsayantha this weekend, they opened it. It was like a fine sugar coating with lots of dips and turns. All the full time paid patrollers were in their doing laps. Just a lot of fun. The other mogul trails Winisook, Togora, Onteora, Yahoo, and Seneca were all just a lot of fun.

They were making a ton of snow on Roaring Brook which was closed. For the intermediate skiers, Roaring Brook should be great skiing/riding when they open that up and into the weekend.

Get out and ski the Catskills while these great conditions last. :spread:

I second the comments by Catskills. We visited Belleayre yesterday ( 2/2 ) and the conditions improved from " good" to " great " with the afternoon snow. Our group was impressed with the mountain, skied into the lifts all day, and bounced all over the mountain. They built a sharp dropoff on the top of Upper Yahoo, where you dropped 20 ' into some soft moguls. The groomers located off the Quad, also offered some great " bomber runs" .
