Nothing wrong with a couple of feet of fresh new snow! Not powder by any means. More like instant spring skiing type of snow. Nice soft crud and/or bumps all over the mountain. Certainly one of the best days of the year.
Good thing for the snow as the wind scoured areas revealed plenty of frozen solid ice bumps underneath (not a problem for skiing today as there were plenty of snow covered lines if you were smart enough to look).
Glades were generally in very good shape but there were some potentially dangerous areas forming with hidden snow bridges over steams.
I finally made it out to the Cathedral Brook area. The traverse was good exercise but not really worth it. Maybe I'm biased from my recent Utah trip?
One complaint - it took them a couple of hours to open the HSQ. WTF? Their performance on that lift - a great addition to the mountain - has been dismal all year. The time it takes them to restart that thing after someone falls is bush league. Now they can't open it because of too much snow???
