Noticed today that Belleayre had cut some really clear, straight paths through their Belleayre Glades (to the right when you are on the Superchief). This sucks, as the glades are so narrow already with this easier path through the middle it takes away space. Is this normal for glades?

I don't understand how an easier path through the middle takes away space... and therefore, "Is this normal for glades?" is unanswerable.... What do you mean?

I think those glades were cut and fun to ski last winter.

I don't mean the actual glades. If you look closely, you can see "trails" through the glades rather than just a patch of trees. You can see where trees in the glades have been knocked down and visible paths cleared through the actual glades. I was asking if at other resorts, if they put these "easier trails" inside glades for skiiers who have a hard time.

At Jay their two beginner glades, Moon Walk and Bushwacker, have trails cut through them. These trails are not straight but are a groomer width wide and zig zag through the glade. These trails are groomed giving the beginners an option of skiing the trees or bailing out on the trail.

There is nothing wrong with widening the space between the trees so as to open glade skiing up a little.
At some resorts they don't have to do this. Hell at alta the trees are so wide apart it's easy to see the runs in the woods. Conversly at whiteface their blue lower angle glades are tight as hell and nobody uses them.

so there isn't really any normal

Wider spaces between tree = an easier time for me to practice tree skiing. A good thing in my book.

The marked glades at belleayre are kind of a joke anyway. Although I have not been there yet this season to see this cutting for myself I can imagine that in that small area if they cut any sort of trail they would ruin the glade.
