Seems like Belleayre has a different choice in the order of opening trails this year. I could be wrong. I think the choices are good ones. Belleayre's east side intermediate and single black are mostly open. This year Belleayre Run is a wide trail under the Lift 6 Superchief HSQ that takes a lot of snow but provides excellent skiing for Lift 6 east side. Next to open are trails Seneca and Algonquin on the west side with Tomahawk lift 8 quad. Interesting trail choices this year. I think its all good.

It seems a bit risky to try to open Tomahawk early because you have to open several trails just to get to and from it.

I have a free-anytime voucher for the Bell. Never been. Good place to go over the Christmas break? How are the crowds and is what's open skiing well?
Not as bad crowed as most other resorts. Ikind like a Mini mount snow.

They opened the upper mountain terrain around lift 7 quickly this year and did not concentrate on HSQ terrain to start and I agree that was a good strategy. Similar to Hunter opening Huega, Cliff, and Hellgate to start and bagging Belt. Also a wise choice IMO.

Belle skied great when I was there about 2 weeks ago. Snowmaking whales and bumps on Mohawk and good groomed snow on Onteora and Wanatuska.
