Date Skied: Thursday February 8, 2007
Ski Area: Berkshire East
Conditions: Packed Powder

We got to the mountain with the Amherst Regional school group at 3;30, Skied till 7:00.

The crew at Berkshire East has been busy making snow and opening more trails.

We skied laps on: Outback to Roundabout, Outback to War Dance, Big Chief, & Flying Cloud. (flying cloud has the most pitch, but it was a sheet of ice)

The High School race program was in full swing on Upper & Lower Competition so we stayed off of that. (It sounded quite icey!)

Most trails were icey with some powder on top. It was extemely windy so the cover powder was blowing off into the woods. The wind was blowing so hard on roundabout that it just about stopped us in our tracks. Not to mention the wind chill factor. Considering that the Beast really hasn't had any appreciable natural snow fall I was amazed by how much terrain was open.
