Was in Fort Lauderdale in March...never saw so many Hummers on the road in my life. Lots of off-roading in Broward County ! ;)

one of my dream cars is a Diesel Hummer Slant Back. However I feel the newer ones suck anyway. Ever since the H2, the entire brand sucked. Give me an old school H1

Hummers are for pansies trying to compensate. .

So true, so true.

In the big picture, this is such a minor thing. They only sold maybe 350 last year. This public version is a small part of the sales, most are made for the military and they can barely keep up with the military orders. GM loves the brand and will continue to build the smaller versions.

My neigbor bought a H3 I was surprised to learn they are not reccommended for towing. Small engine in a big box and they cost less than alot of the big SUV's.

Diferent strokes for diferent folks...I always say. It must be the ads cause I agree with the post above that most look at them with a great deal of discern.

I don't know how many of you realize this, but the H1 was the only serious offroad vehicle still produced with that nameplate.

I think it's a shame they're going to stop production. The H2 and H3 are jokes. The H2 is just a Suburban with better ground clearance. There is nothing about them that makes them deserving of the Hummer badge.

The H1 on the other hand employed serious offroad technology... self inflating and pressure monitoring tires, fully independent rear suspension, Torsen differentials at the front, middle and rear... etc. etc. It was a Humvee with a paint job, really.

The H1 has nothing in common with the H2 or H3 besides mild body resemblance. They don't sell because they are rediculously expensive... once was around $80 grand and now up over $100.

Oh well, this was the right call business wise probably but it still sucks. I would love to own one of those things.

I agree 100% H2 and H3 suck. I'd love an H1 as well, but only as a second car and ofcourse I would need a place to store it. For now, guess I'll have to dream about getting the Toyota FJ Cruiser. No where near as expensive and still looks impressive :) I know, I know, it's not a Hummer, but I like:

Haa.. well I knew you had some sense, Andy.

I would have a place to store an H1, I would have a slight problem affording it though. I hear those FJ's are real popular down in NZ.

I'd settle for an Land Rover Series III or Defender, personally. That would be a great approach vehicle.

Checked out an FJ the other day, I liked. But 1. they just came out and dealer is charging over sticker. 2. I'm not ready to buy anything new yet

Thank you for not making me type that all up. I agree complealty. I was given the oppertony to ride off road in an H1 once(on the same trail that i take my neibors jeep) and it was a ride like none other.
