One of the dangers of SAC/Backcountry.com. Hard to tell exactly what you are getting. Had a gift certificate, have had good luck with Scott poles, 44" length, like the grip/strap style. Didn't realize the entire pole is coated in fuzz :p.

usually when i see crystals and hairs on things i get excited 8) this is not one of those cases...

How tall are you? 7'4"?

Maybe he has really long legs and short arms, like a t-rex, making ridiculously long poles necessary. If that's the case then he's probably overly sensitive about it, nice job outing him... :roll:
