I like Loon as well as Sunday River. I like the loaf, but am a slacker and can't deal with the drive. 4 season stuff matters to me not just the ski area in winter. The mountains are places I chose to spend almost all my free time and any extra money.. I would not vote for me.,... That being said I do love the River and its community and vibe.

Hard to judge./ classify people I have yet to meet. Not to mention... who am I to judge or classify them anyway? Spirit of this thread was missed by some.

hell yeah..50 degrees with fog and rain today...60 degrees and more rain tomorrow...while Jackson Hole still keeps getting dumped on. Time to starting planning a spring trip to Utah

Is everyone thats a beginner a "gaper" to you?

Cause to me it's re-experiencing the thrill of being a beginner - vicariously. Everyone has to start somewhere.. And to me - the people that publicly resolve themselves to be beginners are way better then the people that can't admit they are beginners and ski above their limits.

I met some great people here - found an awesome funky music scene - stumbled on a nice 100 old house to live in - have great neighbors - can look out my back window at Rusk Mountain..

So I want people to come here! Especially in the summer!

No - there's a good tourist thing in the summer... Festivals, concerts, mountain biking, fishing.. good stuff..

I think a homer is someone who defends the mountain he/she likes best against forum attack.

Gaper is a term I don't like. I think internet experts call people who don't get to ski alot or who are just starting out in the sport gapers.
