Today was my first day back at Black this year, and I cannot believe the difference in the overall vibe and operations. Last year felt like a ghost town and certainly a ski area on its death bed. Today the place was fully staffed, parking lot full, deep base on the snowmaking trails, and it seemed like everyone was having a fun time. With the new snow, the conditions were about as good as I’ve skied there. Overall, I’m happy to see the place take what seems to be a full 180 for the good. Hopefully this momentum can continue into future seasons.

I’m curious if that post is saying they were cat skiing yesterday or Sunday. The blue sky in the picture couldn’t have been Sunday. I left at 3 and Summit chair was still running. If it went on hold right after that, then they fired it up just for the last hour. Pretty cool!

How'd you find BMOM? We're Sunday River skiers, and I always wanted to go over there and try it out. Heard good things about the trees there.
Go try it then, BMOM is great! But be warned, with it being South facing, any warm up and the natural snow getting heavy fast in the glades. By March, they tend to melt out rather quickly unless we have a really deep base.

It was amazing. I acknowledge that I hit it on a primo powder day, but it’s awesome. Enough tree skiing that I never repeated myself in a full day. I was told they have all sorts of glade clearing activity in the offseason and it really shows. Incredibly clean low elevation tree lines.

BMNH was fun to check out, but BMOM won me as a fan. Classic day.
