Area skied: Black Mountain Of Maine

Date skied: March 28th, 2008 from 7-9pm

Surface conditions: Powder, 4" new

Weather: light snow and 31F

Warren and I arrived in Rumford Center in time for a few hours of night skiing and we had a great time skiing in some late season powder. This was my first time night skiing in Maine. We took in 6 top to bottom runs including a bit of glade skiing on Allagash Glade, the snow is very light and fluffy unlike the wet stuff that we saw south of Bethel.

Black Mountain is a nice night spot and a great bargain with lift tickets costing $37 for the two of us for a four hour ticket good from 5-9pm.

Interesting that they don't close their gladed terrain for night skiing. If there's enough light, that's pretty cool

Man that looks nice! There is definately something special about skiing at night in the snow with noone around.
