Hey All,
I'm back from a fun afternoon at Blue mountain the true mountain. I arrived at Blue at 12:30PM and it was 48 degrees under mostly cloudy skys. A minute later Zaldon pulled in followed by Atomic Jeff. Rodney and his friends were telling me how A-Jeff was chased by patrol yesterday and the patrollers said he was banned for the rest of the season. Well when it was time to get scanned in the scanner made a funny sound when it scanned A-Jeffs pass...because it was invalid. Kind of a bummer the Blue mountain ski patrollers are great people.. So it was just me and Zaldon..Razors was really smooth, challenge was a little choppier and the steps in the Sidewinder park were mad crispy.
There were fast and slow areas in the snow..areas that were really white and dirty areas as well..we saw Root around 2PM and he joined us for a few runs including some photos on Paradise and he even took a picture of Epicski Bruce. Main Street and Switchback were pretty mushy but fast snow until the shuttle and lower park. Crowds were pretty light and there were no real liftlines, even with the quad running. The spring snow was definitely more tiring to ski than packed Poeder and after 17 runs for 17,850 vertical feet in a little under 3 hours I had my fill..I need to preserve the legs for the weekends May temperatures and smashed tators. On the drive home I called Atomic Jeff and he told me that he is banned from Blue until Monday so he ended up skiing Camelback. The Blue mountain ski patrol doesn't cut repeat offenders any slack. When I left the temperature was in the upper 50s...the sun was shining..the birds were chirping and the ladies were wearing less clothing revealing sweater puppets..yes Just Another Day in Paradise...
