Hey All.
I'm back from a fun RAW right after work session at Blue mountain the true mountain. I was on the snow by 330PM and the temperature was 34 degrees at the base under party sunny skys. I managed 7 runs off the six-pack in the first hour due to the lack of people. I got fresh cord on Paradise and Lazy Mile and skied Barneys Bumps with some of Rodneys buddys. I also skied the halfpipe for the first time this season. It's about 400 feet long and the walls are really smooth..I like it..although it could become solid with the upcoming cold snap.
I skied Challenge five times. It had nice carvable snow until it got dark then the snow began to setup and it turned icier but still nice. There's a bit of a lip on the falls so you can get mad steezy air without even trying. Razors Edge was closed for race team training. Sidewinder Park was closed as well, it has huge snowmaking whales on it and it's going to be rebuilt. The last 7 runs of my session were spent entirely on Paradise. Due to the new snow blown on it this past weekend to cover the ice along with a few inches of natural and twice daily grooming..it was a carvers dream. I mostly made GS arcs..the snow was way to good to straightrun and I only saw two red-coats so I just made slow and deliberate turns to avoid being whistled at.
I skied the last 4 runs down Paradise with Jim..you know Epic-Ski Bruces buddy who wears the red one piece ski suit. He was impressed at the tracks I was laying down..I felt like Atomic Jeff for a minute..lol..No PASRs or AZers in attendence but still alot of fun. I skied 17 runs in total including 9 on Paradise, 5 on Challenge, 2 on Lazy Mile and one Barneys to the pipe. I left at about 620PM so I averaged about 6 runs an hour which isn't bad since there were some short liftlines even in VIP...
A really fun session..my legs feel really great..and temperatures were mad goldilocks..not to hot..not to cold..just right..Maybe I'll see some people up there tomorrow evening...
