Hey All,

I'm back from a fun session at Blue mountain. When I arrived in the lower lot at 7:40AM, it was 25 degrees and the snowguns were blasting on Tubing. Atomic Jeff was in the house and now since he's skinny, he gets chilly so he boots up in the lodge... I'll always be a parking lot booter upper..it's how I roll. I saw AngryHugo by the ticket scanner and we made first 6-pack. Atomic Jeff told me that a surprise visitor was joining us and I was hoping it was going to be a hot chick but it turned out to be ThinkSnow Greg...Root showed up at the same time and we were privilaged to ski with the two founders of www.paskiandride.com

The snow on Challenge was O.K...pretty smooth and some nice turns near the top but also pretty icy and a little chunky. Barneys bumps were pretty solid and the groomed part of upper Main Street was nice and the bottom was death cookied up. Lazy Mile was the trail of the day..a few runs it was crazy mile but that's part of the fun of skiing Blue mountain on a weekend. We saw First Grade Teacher at the base..he shaved his beard. I yelled out,"There's PASRs biggest troll"...and "It's fun being an internet bully"..and I did a little dance.. Atomic Jeff left mad early because he had an exam to study for. Then a few runs later ThinKSnow Greg left. It was just me and Root. Root has a GPS built into his blackberry and I took a fast run on Lazy Mile to see how fast I went but he has to download the application. I could only tuck Lazy Mile until the the steeper section that was cluttered with lots of nubs. Root and I then took the Main Street chair up to ski Raceway but Raceway was closed for the raceteam so we skied a Chunky Come Around park to a chunky Midway to a chunky lower main street to a mad sweet and low sandy shuttle and lower park. By this point the snow was softening a bit on challenge and the lower mountain and it was above freezing so the guns were shut off. I skied a final run down Crazy Mile and then Peaced Out.

I left at 11:06AM and skied 19 runs in total including 18 off the 6-pack and one off the Main Street chair for 19,500 vertical feet. There were no lift lines at this time but the runs were crowded. I skipped the Blue mountain drive inn and just picked up a hoagie from Wawa. Definitely a fun session and it was good to ski with ThinkSnow Greg for the first time in 2 years. Greg is one of the few people who appreciates my humor and I even freestyle rapped for the entire crew..A totally legit finish to a totally legit weekend at a totally legit mountain with totally legit people...JEA!!!!!

Today was a blast. I pulled into the lower lot around 7:55 and was on the snow around 8:15. As I was walking over toward the lift, I saw GSS and AtomicJeff, and was introduced to ThinkSnow. First run down Tut's to Lazy felt great. Next run was down Challenge, and while there was plenty of snow to navigate around the crap, the light was so flat due to the cloud cover, we all decided kinda decided to just own Lazy Mile for the morning.

Blackberry app didn't recongize the hand off to GSS as a new event (I'll post a question on Instamapper's support forum later) but I'm pretty sure it clocked him at 32MPH down lazy and then a solid 40MPH on Falls into Home Strech.

After GSS left, I did 4 more runs. 2nd to last run a snowsnake bit my left ski on Tut's and wouldn't let go, so I took my first spill for the season. I'm sure I looked like an total gaper. Sun was out in full force, so I decided to finish the day with a run down Challenge. It had really softened up nicely and was a great way to finish up.

GPS tells me I'm regularly hitting speeds over 30MPH which is a good reference point for the rest of the season. In total I spent 3 hours 21 minutes on the snow this morning for a total of 20633 feet of vertical and about 13 miles of horizontal and a total of 19 runs and left at 11:37. A Google Earth file from the GPS data is attached.

On the way home, I got mad hungry outside of Bath, so I stopped at Wegmans for some chicken wings & fingers with some tater tots! I was going to have some left over ribs for lunch, but now they'll be dinner.

So, is Philpug right about Blue?

He sure is!!!!! Philpug is always right...except when it comes to Pre skis..the only reason he skied Blue two years ago was because he lost a bet about pre skis..I said they were made in Park City and he didn't believe so we bet on it...I'm due a day at Sno mountain by a www.paskiandride.com member over a bet on the outcome of the recent election..but he's an employee so it's no big loss for him..Holla
