Hey All,

I'm back from a fun morning session at Blue mountain. I arrived at 7:12AM and the temperature was a seasonably cold 23 degrees. I skied the first several runs with GahSkier George. Challenge was simply awesome..they did a great job grooming it and it was a carpet. Switchback and Lazy Mile were also nice early on. I saw Phillcore in the early morning lineup but he was skiing with his gaper snowboard friend. George and I met up with some of Georges buddies and I skied a few runs with them including Razors edge which received fresh blown snow overnight which they groomed into chunky death cookies. It was bad enough that I only skied it once. 2 people got injured on Razors edge when they first opened it;. Paradise opened late as well due to grooming out the snowmaking and it was pretty nice but crowded. Main Street was pretty bad..sugary and chunky.

I then joined the Jib-honks for a few park runs. The Real KevinThomas was grilling up some serious steeze along with Justo, Justin, Toast, and Knucle-Dan. Justo filmed me doing a spread eagle off the first little booter and I was real off balance. I was also videotaped busting a mad steezy freestyle rap on the 6-pack. It was definitely extra crispy like KFC chicken. I then ended my session with one run down Switchback ith Phillycore which was lots of sugar piles and not to fun to ski. I was once again on my old Elan S12s which handled the hardpack well..I was loving the sharp right turn on Lazy Mile early in the AM when the trail was empty. Crowds were moderate for a weekend..1-2 minute liftlines but alot of people on the open runs..especially with Challenge closed for the race team. There was also a halfpipe competition going on complete with speakers blasting out some Limp Biskit which made the comp totally legit.

I left at 10:37AM after 18 runs for 18960 vert...16 off the 6-pack(1050 vert) and 2 off the quad(1080) vert. The temperature was 35 degrees when I left with the sun shining bright. I stopped at the Blue mountain drive-inn for a high protein brunch..no home fries...along with 2 mugs of coffee. Then I stopped for cheap $2.99 gas at the Top Star and also had some Sugar Free Red Bull to add to my caffeine high. Back here in the A it's up to 41 degrees. I was invited to join my Dad for golf this afternoon but I'm not in the mood to chase a little white ball around. It looks like spring skiing from now until about Thursday..maybe I'll see some more PASRs late tomorrow afternoon at Blue..Holla

Steeze....you should try for the Wildcat 100K challenge. Perfect charity event for a vert junky like yourself

Wow..do competitors get to cut the line? I've skied 70k in a day at Stowe and Blue mountain and 60k+ at Jackson Hole..100k would be tiring..I'd probably need to drink alot of red bull. I know Boston Bob skied 100k of vert in a day at Stowe off the Forerunner quad.

I'm certain they'd let you cut the line. Yeah 100K would be very challenging, that said if there is such a thing as an 'easy' place to do it on the east coast, it would be Wildcat. That lift accesses 2100 vert in just 6 minutes. There is absolutely zero run out at the bottom. 48 runs to complete it, so 6 runs per hour. In perfect conditions with no lift stoppages, you'd need to ski those runs in 4 minutes.

2100k in 4 minutes would be no problem..since I was skiing 2740K off the gondola at J-Hole in under 3 minutes..I would seriously just tuck everyrun..to gain a several second cushion on each run...a true hardpack day would be most ideal..fresh snow or spring conditions would make for lots of piles which would make it more leg burning and slower..the only problem for me is that Wildcat is so far away...but I'm very tempted and seriously believe I could win the thing since I enjoy NT(No-turn) runs..lol

As it's a charity event, it could be a good excuse to take off of work for a long weekend and explore a few other areas in the region. Do a three day including it, Saddleback and Sugarloaf. Though even at that, you'd probably need to take five days off to make it happen.

Blue mountain definitely needs park passes...lots of noobs who don't know Smartstyle..and some little kid on a leash could get decapitated..the terrain park is not the place to teach Junior how to ski..
