Just got back. Absolutely incredible and we practically had the mountain to ourselves. Got a late start this morning after a long evening of shenanigans, but stayed through last lift while looking at a six hour drive home. So worth it... :spin:

Indeed, the day was a beauty but how were the conditions?

My last day of skiing there was on Saturday (2/23) and the conditions were pretty much the same as for much of this past week - icy and very hard packed. I was there from 2/17 through 2/23 and only Sunday (2/17)featured really great conditions. Soft cover, great moguls on natural trails on that day. After the rain on Monday - 2/18, the mountain froze up and the goods disapeared.
Yes, the grooming crews did all they could and there was some selective snow making going on subsequent days, but over all it kind of sucked.
The snow event from this past Thursday delivered only an inch or so of fluff. It was great for XC but did not make one bit of difference for the mountain.
We still managed to have a good vacation, but the downhill part of it was a bust. Sugarloaf needs a decent dumping to bring it back to prime conditions.

no complaints here. It was warm enough with the sun to loosen up the hard pack. I find when its icy, the faster you go and the less turns you make, the better!
