BMC Trailfox TF02 Trailcrew Complete Mountain Bike
The BMC Trailfox TF02 Trailcrew 2013 Complete Mountain Bike takes the Trailfoxs proven frame, and builds it with burlier parts, for all-mountain domination. It shares the efficient suspension platform and durable frame, but it gets a bigger fork, to remove any doubts when things start getting wild. And with a proven SRAM drivetrain and Fox suspension, the only thing you have to worry about is nailing your line.
The TF02 uses a triple-butted, hydroformed alloy tubeset. BMC's iSC (integrated Skeleton Concept) optimizes weight savings, strength, and ride characteristics by using Finite Elements Method (FEM) computer technology. Every 6000 series aluminum tube is shaped to exacting standards; what you get is a frame that reacts to rider inputs like power application, steering, and braking with impeccable efficiency and precision. BMC's extra attention to tube shape results in a frame that maximizes weight savings and stiffness.
Stroke is controlled using BMC's patented Advanced Pivot System rear suspension. It's essentially a mini-link rear suspension that creates a floating pivot. By positioning the floating pivot relative to the chainrings, the APS suspension maintains the efficient pedaling characteristic that world class riders demand from a high-performance trail bike. The Trailfox offers a generous 150mm of rear wheel travel damped by a Fox Float CTD shock. It's air sprung and has an external adjustment for rebound damping and a three-position lever for adding low speed compression damping if needed on long climbs and mellower terrain.
This particular TF02 is runs on a SRAM X9 drivetrain, with a Race Face double chainring crankset. Stopping is handled by Avid Elixir 7 brakes. Matching FOXs Evolution series Float CTD rear shock is a robust Evolution series 34 FLOAT CTD fork. Eastons Haven line supplies the stem, and handlebar, while the seatpost is a Rockshox Reverb Stealth dropper post crowned with a Fi:zik Tundra saddle. The wheels are tubeless-compatible DT Swiss M1800s, wrapped in Onza tires.
